Chapter 38

by Michelle M Pillow & Mandy M Roth

Vampire Ball Part II

Pushing through the double doors to the dinning room, Mandy spotted Tru in the corner holding a tray of pumpkin shaped miniature cakes. They went well with her gingerbread mausoleum. Tru certainly was unique if not a bit eccentric. It wasn’t like Mandy had a lot of room to talk so she avoided commenting.

Tru smiled wide, bringing attention to her pixie-like features. “You made it!” Her gaze raked over Mandy slowly. “Your dress is practically see through.”

Biting her lower lip, Mandy sighed. “I know. I was aiming at completely see through but this was the best I could come up with.”

Tru’s eyes widened as she nodded. “I see. Umm, cookie?”

“Uh, no. I’m fine.”

“Yes,” a deep voice said from behind Mandy. “You are.”

Turning, she found herself staring into the face of a white drama mask. Unable to resist the long strands of silky black hair, she gave in and ran her fingers through it, savoring the feel. “You clean up nicely.”

“He certainly does,” Tru said, dreamily.

“I thought you were out of town for the weekend.” Mandy traced his jawline, enjoying how smooth it was. As her thumb ran over his bottom lip, her inner thighs quivered in anticipation. “Muir, you should really dress up more often.”

“Muir?” the man drew back slightly. “I’m sorry but…”

She jerked her hand away, pulling the man’s hair with her. He bent down and for a moment, Mandy was lost in his blue eyes. It wasn’t until his full lips brushed hers that she realized she’d effectively pinned him in place. It wasn’t as though he could go far since she had her hands wrapped in the silky black strands of his hair.

Mandy opened her mouth to apologize and was silenced as his lips captured hers. Images of naked, sweaty bodies rolling around in satin sheets filled her head. Her breathing quickened and she clung desperately to the source of the pleasure. As the man’s cool tongue traced the inner edges of her mouth, Mandy simply moaned and rubbed her body against his. The pictures in her mind of the two of them tangled in the sheets as he pumped the length of his cock into her left tiny animal noises coming from her.

Going to her tiptoes, Mandy savored the taste of the stranger’s sweet mouth. The way their tongues artfully circle one another, she could have sworn it was as if they’d had endless hours of practice. Someone untangled her hand from the man’s hair but Mandy didn’t back away. No. She slid her now freed hand behind his neck as she continued to enjoy the bliss his mouth offered.

Vaguely, Mandy heard music playing. Its melody was themed for Halloween but was still every bit as beautiful as anything else. She moved with it as did the mysterious man whose lips seemed fused to hers. They danced slowly, concentrating more on the explicit exploration of the other’s mouth than on anything else.

Mandy slid her tongue around, changing their rhythm and skimmed over something sharp. There was a quick pinch followed by slight pain before she tasted the distinctly coppery taste of blood. Her partner took the kiss to a new level, seeming to attack her mouth with an intensity she’d not known before. Mandy didn’t complain. She let the man lift her and walk with her until she was pressed against the wall and he was settled against her, his clothed erection digging at her lower abdomen.

The distinct sound of Tru’s tiny laughter threatened to end the moment. Mandy refused to give in, wanting more from the mystery man.

“Here,” Tru said, her hand pressing past Mandy. “Take her in here. You’ll have privacy.”

The man broke the kiss long enough to mutter something close to a thank you before carrying Mandy through a doorway and into a darkened room. He pushed the door closed with his foot and reclaimed her mouth.

She pushed on him long enough to temporarily break their kiss. Mandy couldn’t wait, she had to see the face behind the mask. Lifting it, she drew in a deep sobering breath. “Armando?”

“Yes,” he whispered as he picked up where they had left off.

Michelle tried to move past Dimitri but he didn’t budge. A quick roll of her eyes and a snort didn’t seem to help so she went with kicking his shin. He yelped and she smiled. “Excuse me.”

“What the hell was that for?” he asked, his grayish blue eyes locked on her. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly as if he were trying to hide a smile. “Aren’t you a violent one?”

“You have no idea. Now, move.”

He did but it wasn’t in the direction she wanted. Dimitri stepped towards her, filling the gap between them and making her breath catch. Michelle swallowed hard and silently willed her cheeks not to flame red. They ignored her.

Dimitri ran the back of his hand over her bare arm. “Are you hot? How about we steep outside? We could… umm… cool off.”

Her mind said no but the nodding of her head said otherwise. Before Michelle knew it, her hand was planted firmly within Dimitri’s as he led her through the crowd of people and out Tru’s back door. She drew in a deep breath of crisp night air and did her best not to focus on Dimitri as he licked her lower lip.

A sly smile spread over his face. “Did you just moan?”

Her eyes widened. “No!”

He chuckled. “Yes, you did.”

“Did not!”

“Did, too,” he said, pulling her closer to him. “It was cute. Do it again.”

“I don’t do cute and I didn’t moan.”

Dimitri gave another yank and Michelle bumped into his massive chest. “Baby, I beg to differ. You most certainly do cute and I’m positive that I not only have made you moan, but I can get you to do again, too.”

“Why you—”

His lips pressed to hers, cutting off her protest. Michelle stood rooted in place as Dimitri slipped his warm tongue into her mouth. The second his hands moved over her ribs, she heard someone moan. It took a moment for her to realize that someone was her. She would have been humiliated if Dimitri wouldn’t have picked that minute to growl as he took control of her mouth—of her.

Garmor spotted Tru in the back corner, holding a tray of cookies and headed straight for her. “Where are they?”

“Where is who?” she asked, her voice as delicate as she appeared to be.

He didn’t bother to hide his scowl. “Mandy and Michelle. Where are they?”

Lifting the tray, she peeked under it before tipping her head and looking behind Garmor. “Hmm, they aren’t right here so I don’t know. Why?”

“You know why.”

Grinning, she tried to hand him a cookie. “Hungry?”

“Do not think to tamper with the decision we made. The slate is clean. Keep it that way.”
“So you’re saying no to the cookie?” Tru wagged her well-defined brows.

Pavel moved up behind him and reached towards the tray. “Tru, those look delicious. Did you make them yourself?”

Shocked, Garmor smacked Pavel’s hand away and glared at him. “Do not make me wish fleas upon you.”

Tru grinned. “Oh, that’s not very nice. It took Pavel weeks to get rid of the last infestation you wish upon him.”

“Woman, you are on my last nerve,” Garmor said, his teeth clenched and his patience all but gone.

“Aww, thank you.” She wrinkled her nose and wiggled it slightly. “You are just about the sweetest elder I know.”

“I’m going to kill her,” Garmor said, casting Pavel a sideways glance.

He laughed. “Very well but you should know that if an elder kills another power, they themselves die.”

The news wasn’t earth shattering. He knew the rules. Still, the idea of wringing Tru’s dainty neck sounded oh so sweet. As he went to comment he heard something growling. It was Pavel’s gasp that alerted him as to who was making the noise. “Dimitri?”

Pavel nodded. “Yes. He’s preparing to lay claim to someone.”

No. Not someone. Michelle.

Garmor pushed the other elder in the direction the growl had come from. “We need to stop them. Now!”

Tru giggled a second before she threw her tray of cookies at his feet, tripping him in the process. He hit the floor with a thud and had to fight to keep hold of his power. Killing Tru would leave him dead as well. For some reason, that option was looking better by the minute.
