Thanks, Amy! I have to agree--my twins were premies (2 months early) back in the day. If not for those caring nurses and doctors, they wouldn't be successful, healthy adults today. I no longer work in the ICU though. The ghost chased me off. LOLOLOL!

Titania. I can believe that.

AND let me just say working as an ICU nurse you have my utmost respect.

The NICU saved 2 of my children's lives.

Nurses and Drs working in those units have my respect!

Love this topic, Amy! I've never seen a ghost before, but I think I've heard one. I used to work the graveyard shift in an ICU as a nurse. It was usually two on staff at night, so we'd dim all the lights except the monitor station and take turns going on break. I'd sit there all alone in mostly darkness with nothing but the sounds of the faint beep of the EKG monitors and the snoring of my patients. One night, someone clearly whispered my name---right in my ear. I came out of my chair with a screech, searched the unit, and other than my sleeping patients, no one else was in there. Eek, I can still remember the sound of that voice. *shiver*

Amy - so glad to catch your first post here! Very spooky experience you had on the road.

We actually have a spirit here in the house that says hi to us by making our Simpson's Mo's Tavern alarm clock say "Duffman!" There are four possible characters with three sayings each, but our spirit only says "Duffman!" It gave us warnings before three family deaths. It also says hi if we're feeling especially down about something. We love our Duffman spirit!

Ooh, Amy. That sounds spooky. Hubby and I used to work in pubs when we were in London. Many of the pubs were really old--hundreds of years. We didn't see any ghosts but some weird things happened there. For some reason the guys used to sleepwalk and turn on the bath in the small hours of the morning. That happened twice, once to hubby. He woke up and had no idea what was going on.

I can believe that Kimber. My Dad told me once about a neighbor when he was growing up who was a miner in the gold mines. Well, one day my Dad saw him walking home. He waved to my Dad and continued up the road to his home. Just then his mother came out and told him that their neighbor had just been killed in a cave in in the mine.

You're right Jo Lynne, some people need the experience before they believe. I guess because a lot of us our taught not to believe in things like this when we get to a certain age. The time when we stop believing in magic etc.,

That experience *must* have been significant for you! It sounds to me as though the energy of the tragedy left an imprint on the area...

Last month I hit the street (yes, literally!) to ask folks whether or not they believe in ghosts. I was shocked at how many people said NO. Sometimes it takes a personal experience to create a believer, I guess. :)

Lovely you'll be guesting on this blog. I'll have to read often. *winks*
