I enjoy a good vampire novel every here and again. Okay, if it’s well-written and an interesting story, it will hook me every time.

My first exposure to sexy vampires was Love at First Bite. (grin) From that moment on, they became alluring, if a bit on the scary side. :)

I noticed you’ve seen the book before me. LOL Um, that’s just not right. (grin)

Sorry, but because in my years as a nurse I saw so many dead people, I can’t warm to the idea of “undead.” As a result vampire heroes do nothing for me, because I can’t buy into a fantasy of sexy dead males–or dead females. For me, dead is dead. But I’d agree they make great villains. Ghosts, on the other hand, are appealing and can be good or bad, though they do make incorporeal heroes. Hard to satisfy a gal if you have no actual body, even though you may appear to have one. Shapshifters I can see as heroes and heroines. After all, they’re alive, and humans often behave like beasts anyway.

Thanks guys! I did some super dancing this eve when the book arrived a bit sooner than expected at my doorstep. Had the radio going, it was great!

The thing with the vampires as a genre being “dead” always amuses me. For one, it indicates a general burnout. For another, I think it means that people need to be more creative with the genre. It’s not just “if it has vampires, it’ll sell”. It’s more like “if it has vampires and is original, it’ll sell”.
